Active negative-pressure (vacuum) socket system
A mechanical or electronic pump draws a vacuum between liner and socket, creating a firm link, stabilising limb volume and improving circulation.

In a conventional socket the residual limb still shifts slightly with each step (pistoning), causing friction, blisters and a loose feel. A negative-pressure system removes that gap by drawing a vacuum between an airtight liner and the socket wall.
The mechanical version uses the compression of each step to run the pump — no battery and very durable. The electronic version has a small pump that holds a set vacuum level, displays the pressure and warns of leaks.
The clinical benefits are documented: limb volume stays more stable through the day, fewer sock adjustments are needed, circulation and skin healing improve, and limb-position awareness is clearer on difficult ground.
